The elegant softly lit outdoor garden seating at Restaurant Cocina de Lilliam would be enough to recommend this family run paladar, but the food's excellent as well. Lilliam Domínguez has a deft touch.
Try the garbanzo, ham, and onion appetizer, and then opt for a piece of fresh fish, usually grouper or snapper, simply grilled. The menu varies, but if they've got it, order the traditional ropa vieja, made with lamb here instead of the traditional beef. This place is getting quite popular so reservations are essential.
Slick service, secluded ambience and freshly cooked food to die for, La Cocina de Lilliam has all the ingredients of a prize-winning restaurant. Set in an illustrious villa in Miramar and surrounded by a garden with trickling fountains and lush tropical plants, diners can tuck into such Cuban rarities as salmon souffle and tuna bruschetta in an atmosphere more European than Caribbean.
