Gun Hill Signal Station, is located in the parish of St. George. It provides a beautiful scenery of the entire island. In the year 1818 a series of signal stations was built to sight approaching ships and vessels in Barbados. The signal stations were also used to warn of slave rebellions on the island.
Gun Hill Signal Station is the largest and most important of the military outposts in Barbados. It is one of the series of six signal stations which was used as rallying points for civil disorder. Before The area was renamed Gun Hill centuries ago, it was called Briggs Hill. Gun Hill Signal Station was restored and opened to the public in 1982.

The rooms at the back of the signal tower are filled with an interesting collection of memorabilia from the military.
